NCC does not offer a degree in Geology or Geography. Students may opt to include these courses, however, in their General Education electives, or as electives toward a Biological Science program.
Physical geographers study patterns of climates, land forms, vegetation, soils, and water. They forecast the weather, manage land and water resources, and analyze and plan for forests, rangelands, and wetlands. Geographers also study the linkages between human activity and natural systems. They are active in the study of global warming, desertification, deforestation, loss of biodiversity, groundwater pollution, and flooding. NCC offers several Geography course, including but not limited to: World Geography, Intro to Environmental Problems, Investigating Climate Change, and Meteorology.
Physical Geology - the origin, development, structure and composition of Earth - is also offered as an elective for students who need to meet General Education requirements.
