HANDS ON COOKING CLASSES

Materials Fees Policy: We hope you'll join us for some of these exciting classes. However, if you are unable to attend the class, please withdraw at least one working day prior to the start date. We are unable to return tuitionor materials fees to students who do not attend a course unless they are eligible for 100% refund per NCC's refund policy for non-credit courses

All of the following classes are "hands-on" unless otherwise stated, so come prepared to cook! For your safety, please wear closed-toe shoes and appropriate attire. Aprons are welcomed! Only paid registrants will be permitted in the kitchen during class time. BRING CONTAINERS SHOULD THERE BE SAMPLES TO TAKE HOME.


DINE AROUND THE LEHIGH VALLEY
We're back this spring with four more restaurants for you to try in our popular Dine Around the Lehigh Valley series. Last semester some of our classes filled quickly, so register early to make sure you get in! Sign up for one or for all, and you will have an opportunity to meet the chefs and ask them questions, see wonderful cooking demonstrations, and enjoy delicious dinners.

CAL-4449 Kiffles
Learn the art of making kiffles in a fast and fool-proof technique. We?ll make the pastry dough, roll out, add filling and do a short bake of these extremely sweet flaky and uniform Hungarian kiffles. Each student will take home at least 3 dozen assorted kiffles. *All classes are 'hands-on' unless otherwise stated, so come prepared to cook! CAL-5943 Holiday Appetizers
MORE NEW RECIPES for the holiday season. Take the stress out of entertaining. Learn how to make great tasting, easily prepared appetizers for your holiday get-togethers. We will make both hot and cold appetizers, plus some dips and spreads. Also covering serving techniques to make an impressive presentation. Sign up quickly; these classes always fill fast! CAL-5948 Holiday Cookies
Come and enjoy a pleasurable evening baking and exchanging cookies for the holidays. This class is a lot more fun than doing it alone! We'll prepare a variety of delicious cookies for either gift giving or serving during the holidays. All classes are 'hands-on' unless otherwise stated, so come prepared to cook! Try an afternoon tea for a change to your holiday entertaining. See just how easy it is to prepare various scones, tea sandwiches, desserts, and the perfect cup of tea for an elegant tea party. After we prepare our food, we will gather in another room to enjoy our gracious tea. This is a great idea for an afternoon out with your friends. *All classes are 'hands-on' unless otherwise stated, so come prepared to cook! CAL-7193 DINE AROUND: Wine Tasting and Gourmet French Dinner at the Albright Mansion
Celebrate St. Nicholas Day and the start of the holiday season at the Albright Mansion; the newest fine dining experience in historic Jim Thorpe. The high Victorian Italianate Albright Mansion was built by Mauch Chunk Attorney, Civil War General, and Congressman Charles Albright in 1861. Tonight you will experience a grand meal with matching wines prepared by one of the few Cordon Bleu chefs in the area, Chef Bob McGuire, CC. Mr. Bart Springer, long time wine appreciation lecturer at NCC, and Chef McGuire will be your hosts. Bart and Chef Bob want you to experience the real cuisine of France with matching French wines. See for yourself if fois gras is a match with sauternes. This will be an evening not to forget. Reception at 6:30 pm followed by dinner at 7 pm. Deadline for reservations is 12/2.
