Mechanical Systems Maintenance: Indoor Environmental Control (HVAC)
Specialized Diploma
The Indoor Environmental Control (HVAC) Specialized Diploma enables students to gain in-depth understanding of cooling, heating, ventilation and refrigeration systems and maintenance practices used in servicing today's equipment. Upon completion of the program students will possess the flexible HVAC skills needed to perform routine installation, maintenance and service on cooling, heating and ventilation systems.
Courses can also be converted and counted towards the Electromechanical A.A.S. degree at a later date.

VTSI 2017 Basic Electricity (60 hrs)
VTSI 2035 Residential Wiring & Construction (45 hrs)
VTSI 5514 Principles of HVAC I (75 hrs)
VTSI 5515 Principles of HVAC II (60 hrs)
VTSI 2047 Industrial Electricity & Sensors (75 hrs)
Electives: (Select 175 hours or more)
VTSI 5527 Air Flow Distribution Systems (60 hrs)
VTSI 5524 Oil Heating Systems (40 hrs)
VTSI 5525 Gas Heating Systems (40 hrs)
VTSI 5526 Heat Pumps (40 hrs)
VTSI 5529 Refrigeration System Troubleshooting (60 hrs)
VTSI 5521 Print Reading for HVAC/R (15 hrs)
Individual courses may be taken without formally entering the diploma program.
