Emergency Medicine

Learn the essentials skills to save lives and reduce injuries in the critical first moments after an emergency has occurred. Our comprehensive training features hands-on instruction and includes certification examinations where applicable. Programs are held at the Fowler Family Southside Campus and the Monroe County Campus.

National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Basic

Intermediate-level, skills oriented course involving extensive hands-on training in the evaluation and treatment of the sick and injured. Fundamental training required for emergency services medical personnel including preparatory, airway management, CPR, patient assessment, medical and traumatic emergencies, lifting and moving. Program consists of classroom lecture, skills labs and clinical lab held in a hospital emergency department. Upon successful completion, participants are eligible to take the PA and NREMT certification examinations. Participants must be at least sixteen years of age to enroll. There is no absenteeism allowed for the duration of the course.

National Registry Emergency Medical Responder

Entry-level emergency medical provider course designed to prepare individuals who initiate patient care in a pre-hospital, industrial, or first responder setting. Program consists of approximately 90 hours of classroom lecture and skills labs including preparatory, airway management, CPR, patient assessment, medical and trauma emergencies, special patient populations, and EMS operations. Upon successful completion participants are eligible to take the Pennsylvania and National Registry EMR certification examinations. There is no absenteeism allowed for the duration of the course.

Approved Pennsylvania Department of Health EMS Continuing Education Center

Maintain your EMS certification requirements with the assistance of NCC's EMS Educational Department. Our EMS continuing education programs feature a full array of training in Medical & Trauma CEUs. Additionally, we can provide specialty educational programs like Aircraft Crash Scene Awareness for EMS, EMS Leadership I, EMS Planning for Large Scale Public Events, Tactical Emergency Medical Services (TEMS), EMT-B Skills Workshop, HAZMAT Awareness, Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVDT) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
