Darrell Mengel began teaching photo history at NCC's main campus in 2014. Mengel is a retired CNC machinist, but has 60 years of experience in saving and restoring photographs of our area's history, including 150 photos of one-room schools. Mengel has given shows at the Nazareth Library, Gracedale, Slate Belt Historical Society and many local organizations. In addition to photo restoration, his other interests include astronomy and the outdoors. His philosophy of teaching is to teach families to name, date and save that box of photos. "Your kids will throw them out if you don't [name and date]."
