A recipient of the Pennsylvania Nursery and Landscape Association "Green Achiever" Award for advancing horticulture in Pennsylvania, Kirk R. Brown serves as business consultant in the green industry. He was inducted in 2008 to the "1885 Club" as a distinguished alumnus of Bangor Area High School. He lectures around the country as historical horticulturists John Bartram and Frederick Law Olmsted. He averages more than one new appearance a week at venues from California to Massachusetts. His hope is to book at least one lecture in every state including Alaska and Hawaii.
Brown's book, "Landscape Contractor" is distributed to high school guidance programs throughout the US and Canada.
Gardens that he designed, installed and maintains at Asbury United Methodist Church were presented with a Pennsylvania Green Award by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and the Pennsylvania Green Commission.
Brown is a graduate of Cornell University and lives in Orefield with his wife Sara.
