An NCC Reunion in South Africa

#nccabroad

While vacationing in South Africa in December, Nate Carpenter, assistant director of international education at Northampton Community College, arranged a South African Alumniluncheon for NCC alumni living in or around Johannesburg.  The gathering went on for hours.  The alumni were eager to tell Carpenter - who is relatively new to NCC - where they had come from, what they loved about NCC, and what they are doing now.  The South Africans studied at Northampton as part of a State Department-funded scholarship program called the Community College Initiative.  All are now working in jobs related to their majors.

Seated left to right are:  Lazarus Morudi '09 (electrical construction technology),  Katlane Seema ' 14 (construction management), Nate Carpenter, Gilbert Maloma '09 (electrical construction technology), Sithembile Mthembu '10 (electrical construction technology), Refiloe Moropa '09 (electrical construction technology), Natasha Vermaak (an engineering professor from Lehigh University), and Moeketsi Sello '09 (electrical construction technology).  Kamogelo Makwana was also part of the gathering, although missing from the picture.
