Class of 2020: David Martinez Saenz

#NCCGrad

To David Martinez Saenz, a business administration major from Easton, taking the many opportunities NCC offers is key to a rewarding education.  While noting that studying hard is vital, he also says that “finding a balance is imperative to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.  It is important to take on as many opportunities that come your way because these are often moments that open new doors to your future. At NCC, I took on as many opportunities as I could handle, and these were the moments that helped me meet new people, to make myself heard, and to aspire to new challenges for my future.”

Saenz served on the Student Senate for 1 ½ years, including as the body’s president for a year.  He is proud of the work he and his fellow students accomplished.

He also wrote for the student newspaper, “The Commuter,” some of his articles making it to the cover.  Through his writing he met “an incredible group of people” and learned about the College and places abroad.

In addition, he helped his immigrant parents navigate their way through a new country.

Saenz transferred from another college to NCC, seeking and finding a more diverse student population, and greater affordability and proximity to home.  He admires the staff and faculty, whom he found challenging and supportive.

He looks forward to transferring to a four-year college and double majoring in finance and political science, with the goal of a career in the banking and political sectors and ultimately becoming a financial analyst.

Saenz appreciates NCC.  “NCC was a place where I was able to mature and find myself as an individual.  I came to the college confused about many of my own personal goals. The college was a place where I was able to discover answers to my concern in a comforting environment  Overall, Northampton Community College is a place that helped me when I needed it most, and I am thankful for what it did for me.”
