Meet Maddy

Maddy will bark when asked to "tell me!"

Maddy

Your name:   Michelle Palmisano

Job title/department:   Advising

What is your dog’s name?   Maddy

How old is your dog?   8

Pure breed or mixed mutt?   Mixed mutt

What is your dog’s gender?   Female

Describe your dog in three words:  Fast, sneaky, chill

What is the thing your dog cannot live without?    Her bed. She will just leave and go to bed without you, trying to get the best spot.

Can your dog do tricks? If so, what?   She will bark if I ask her to 'tell me', otherwise will not bark on command.

What is the best trick your dog has taught you?   To be able to cook while avoiding her, without tripping or spilling things.

Do you have a nickname for your dog?   Maddy girl

Does your dog enjoy bath time?   hates it, I have to put her leash on to get her into the bathroom.

You know your dog is in a good mood when he/she does this:    She does zoomies around the house, running in circles until she gives up.

Your dog’s favorite spot to hangout is:   Anywhere we are or she sneaks to the top of the couch and the bed whenever she can.

Favorite toy:   anything with a sqeaker

One habit you would love to change:   The fact that she runs away if off leash

Does your dog prefer to play with people, or other dogs?    People

Does your dog like children?   Loves them

If you could ask your dog one question and they’d be able to answer it, what would it be?    What she's thinking. When I say silly things or sing & dance, I wonder what's on her mind about what she sees.

Can your dog read your emotions?    Yes!

Funniest moment you’ve had with your dog:   There's so many, but it cracks me up when she chases birds and any small animals and thinks she can get to them, then remembers she is on a leash and looks back at me, almost pleading to be let go.

What is the most rewarding aspect of owning your dog?  Maddy was a rescue, and it warms my heart to know that she has a great life with us, that someone else wouldn't give her. We only know that she's from the Carolinas, and was a voluntary surrender. I love that there's always someone to greet me when I get home.

Additional Comments:   Maddy was a rescue, who coincidentally was fostered by one of my students that I taught in COLS101. During a discussion about careers a student said she wanted to be a veterinarian and explained she had worked at the Easton SPCA. Later, I asked when, we realized it was at the same time that my dog was there, and she didn't remember her. Very late that night I got an email from her saying she remembered Maddy and had her until 12/24 that year...I adopted her on 12/26. Small world!
