NCC's literary and arts magazine is out now

"The Laconic" is launched!

The Fall 2014 issue of "The Laconic," Northampton Community College's literary and arts magazine, was launched at a party on November 6. The tenthThe Laconic staff issue of the magazine contains 100 pages of poems, short stories, photographs and artwork submitted by NCC students, faculty and staff.

Prizes were awarded for the best student submissions. Dori Brown won the literary award for her poem "Hours" and Spencer Kauffman took the art award for "Dust to Dust."

Free copies of "The Laconic" are available at kiosks around campus. Submissions to the magazine are accepted year-round. Deadline for the spring 2015 issue and arts contest is February 27. To submit to "The Laconic" email

The club's faculty advisor is Michael Pogach, assistant professor of English.
