Monroe Arts Collage

Summer Celebration of the Arts

Close to 90 guests attended the opening reception for the summer art exhibition at Northampton Community College's (NCC's)  Monroe Campus on June 25.  The show - which runs through Friday, August 14 --  features works by members of the Pocono Arts Council, the Pocono Mountain Arts Council, the Pocono Guest studying paintingMountains Art Group, the Pocono Painters, the Pocono Photo Club, and the Pocono Watercolor Associates.  It is open to the public free of charge from 7 a.m.- 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.

Guests praised the venue as well as the artwork.  Located in Keystone Hall and named in memory of Dr. E. Ruth and Roger A. Dunning - long-time champions of education in Monroe County - the Dunning Gallery  is well suited to large exhibits.  At the reception, Dr. Matt Connell, dean of NCC Monroe, said the College looks forward to showcasing work by many artists from Monroe County in the years ahead.

Other speakers at the reception included Laura Goss, executive director of the Pocono Arts Council, Linford Werkheiser of the Pocono Watercolor Associates, Eddiejo Herbst of the Pocono Painters, Ann Lafevre of the Pocono Photo Club, George Miller of The Pocono Mountains Art Group, and Nancy Pitcher of the Pocono Mountain Arts Council.
