Nursing Students' Scores Soar!

Way to go!

Congratulations to Northampton Community College nursing students and nursing faculty for outstanding results on the 2013-14 nursing boards! The 2014 first-time pass rate of 90.24% for registered nurses and 95.52% for practical nurses exceeded the national and state mean.

"The pass rates are a result of the hard work and dedication of talented faculty, staff and students," Mary Jean Osborne, director of the College's nursing programs, said. "It was clear at the outset that nothing was going to stand in the way of upholding our tradition of excellence in the NCC way."

Successful completion of NCC's associate degree nursing program (RN) or practical nursing certificate program (PN) qualifies graduates to take the National Council Licensure Exam. When candidates successfully complete the exam, a license is issued.

Graduates of the programs find jobs in a variety of health care settings, such as: hospitals, extended care facilities, home health care agencies, state and federal health-related facilities, the armed services, private duty nursing, and in physician and dentist office settings.
