NCC culinary class offers fresh-from-the-garden tastings at the Farmer's Market!
Susan Roth, associate professor of culinary arts, thought it would be a great experience for her Product Identification class to spend time in the East 40 Garden with Kelly Allen, professor of English. The students harvested garden vegetables and used them in a tasting demo at the Northampton Community College Farmer's Market on Wednesday, September 25.
Networking with other market vendors and describing what they prepared to the over 150 customers they served, was a terrific experience for the culinary students!
They served panzanella salad, quinoa and black beans with a lime cilantro dressing, fried green tomatoes with remoulade sauce and shishito peppers. All were well received!
