Advanced Nurse Aide

New 40 hour course prepares participants to work in an advanced care setting. A Nursing Assistant Level 2 is a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who has received specialized training to perform more complex patient care skills such as phlebotomy, point of care testing, bladder scans, EKGs, catheter removal, and assisting licensed nursing personnel in sterile technique situations. Course includes a combination of lecture and hands-on labs.

Upon successful completion, participants will have the skills required to:

✓ Introduction to speciality practices

✓ Care for a patient through the pre-operative phase, intra-operative phase, and the post-operative phase of care

✓ Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and apply/remove telemetry

✓ Perform point of care testing for diabetic patients

✓ Perform roles during a rapid response/code blue
