Purchase Requisition: Prior to making a purchase, a Purchase Requisition must be completed. A Purchase Requisition is followed by a Purchase Order.

Purchase Order: A Purchase Order is the means by which goods are procured to fill a requirement, furniture and services.

Blanket Purchase Orders: Blanket Purchase Orders may be issued for recurring small dollar transactions with one vendor and are to be used when necessary, to take advantage of discounts, to facilitate order processing, and to ensure timely shipments.

Sales Tax: Northampton Community College is exempt from Pennsylvania sales tax on qualified purchase orders. We are not exempt from hotel occupancy taxes. Tax exempt forms are available in the Purchasing Office and will be provided to suppliers upon request.
