The program has a Fall start only; however, students can start in the Spring and complete some of their Gen Ed courses to lighten their course load in the following semesters. Availability to attend day classes is required. This program is not offered at night.

The Automotive courses are designed to prepare students to take and pass ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) exams. ASE is the nationally recognized organization for Technician certification. PA State Inspection, PA State Emission, and EPA ACT 609 A/C license can be obtained.

A Specialized Diploma is a two-semester program; the Certificate is a three-semester program, and the Associates in Applied Science is a four-semester program. Each program is stackable, which means you can complete one program and transfer the credits into the next program in sequence. Wages would increase based on the program completed.

Lifting heavy objects, working in a garage environment, possible outdoor environments on any given day; rain, dirt, mud, snow, etc., standing on your feet for extended times.

Hands-on exposure varies from course to course, but most are 50% or more hands-on. The Automotive program also requires practicums, one practicum for the Specialized Diploma, and three for the A.A.S. degree, allowing the students to experience on-the-job training. At this time, all three manufacturer's programs require the 2-year A.A.S. degree path.

  • Specialized Diploma: Service Technician, Lube specialist
  • Associates in Applied Science: Service Technician, Specialist Technician, Team Leader, Shop Foreman, Service Manager

Due to the practicum requirements and business demand, we typically graduate with a 95% placement rate.
