Dodie Sable began teaching for Horizons For Youth in March 1999 as a Chess Instructor, teaching at the Bethlehem Campus and the Fowler Center. As a youth, she competed in Chess Tournaments for The United States Chess Federation. Chess is a passion and Dodie plays two to three games every day.

In 2009, Horizons For Youth started a program for Children's Self Defense. NCC added Aikido Self Defense Martial Arts to their list of Non-Credit courses for adults. She earned a second degree black belt in Aikido in 2010. Due to injuries, Dodie is unable to continue her own training but is very passionate about training others to learn self-defense, especially elderly people.

Dodie owns a small business, Any Pet Groomed, offering grooming and other pet services.
