Whether you call it paper mache or papier-mâché, the effect is undeniably surreal as dozens of NCC students wearing gigantic heads invade the Quad.
Each year, under the direction of Bruce Wall, associate professor of art, students taking the class "Principles of 3D Design" create huge, wearable heads out of paper mache to represent a problem they believe exists in the world today, or an idea that is meaningful to them.
On May 6, the big-headed students paraded from Communications Hall to Lipkin Theatre. There they took to the stage to display their heads as a narrator read the personal statement each student wrote to go with his or her head.
