Northampton Community College (NCC) has appointed Rebecca D. Walz as its new director of alumni engagement and the annual fund. She is responsible for fostering, developing and maintaining an effective alumni affairs and annual fund program.
Walz was the director of development and public relations at Lehigh Valley public radio station WDIY, from April 2010 through 2013, increasing membership by 35%. Prior to this, she was WDIY's vice president of programming from 1997-2005 and director of programming from 1995-1997. She was also an adjunct professor in distance learning for NCC from August 2006 through 2013.
Walz earned a bachelor's of arts degree in communications from Moorhead State University, in Moorhead, Minnesota, and a master's of arts degree in communications, broadcast and cable management from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.
"Rebecca has a solid background in non-profit fundraising, events management and marketing," says Sherri Jones, vice president, institutional advancement at NCC. "Members of the alumni board, alumni, and her institutional advancement colleagues are pleased that Rebecca has joined the team."
