NCC Helps Children Play Safe and Be Safe

Chris Post, manager for  the Center for Business and Industry's Health and Safety Program at Northampton Community College, has a lot of experienceChris Post dealing with fire emergencies. He's a former fire captain and emergency medical technician. Today he uses that expertise to provide training for child care center staff on fire safety and emergency management.

Post is featured in the January issue of the Bic play safe! be safe! newsletter. Play safe! be safe! is a fire safety education program created especially for children ages three to five by the BIC Corporation in cooperation with educators and fire safety experts.

Post uses the training he received for the Bic program in his job as a fire safety educator. He works with Head Start programs and early childhood education programs in 18 Pennsylvania counties. NCC provides the training through grants and in conjunction with Community Services for Children, a non-profit organization.
