Beta Beta Chi Recognized at PTK Convention

Northampton Community College's Beta Beta Chi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the international honor society of two-year colleges, received its first-ever regionalBeta Beta Chi at the PTK 2016 Convention awards recognition at the 2016 Middle States Regional Convention, The middle states region of PTK is comprised of 79 chapters from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. Beta Beta Chi was the recipient of the following regional awards:

Horizon Award for Advisors:  Miles Harris and Michelle Pretopapa
Distinguished Chapter Advisor Team:  Miles Harris and Michelle Pretopapa
Distinguished Chapter Officer Team:  Allison Beerwa, Giovanni Cerminara, Randy Martinez, Nikki Newhart, Irma Ortiz-Astacio, and Sarina Tufano.
Chapter Officer Hall of Honor:  Allison Beerwa
Five Star Chapter Plan:  Five Star Level
Community College Completion Corps Certificate of Participation
Middle States Gold

Beta Beta Chi also received the Distinguished Chapter Officer Team Award at Phi Theta Kappa's annual international convention, Nerd Nation, held April 7-9.

The Beta Beta Chi chapter represents the Monroe Campus of NCC. PTK recognizes and encourages the academic achievement of two-year college students and provides opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fellowship programming.
