The 4th year of the Spartan Sprint gets highest participation rate
The Spartan Sprint 5K Walk/Run began bright and early on a chilly September 30 at NCC's Bethlehem Campus. The sprint began at the campus and went to Moravian Academy's campus and back. Although everyone could take the sprint at their own pace, two NCC employees won the Sprint, Lucas Burits for the men and Katherine (Katie) Downing for the women. Luke and Katie received a fun blue trophy produced by NCC's very own Fab Lab (pictured above).
All proceeds from the event went to the Spartan Aid Fund, which helps students with their financial needs, such as gas money, groceries and books for class. The Psychology Club, The Social Work Club and NSO (Nursing Students Association) raised more than $200.00 for the sprint. The event had a total of 101 participants, the highest number since its inception. Here's the best part....all together, over $2,250 was raised for Spartan Aid! Each participant took home a t-shirt to commemorate the event, and whether people walked or ran to the finish line, everyone was a winner!
