How old is your dog? 7 years old
Pure breed or mixed mutt? She is a purebred Alaskan Malamute
What is your dog’s gender? Female
Describe your dog in three words: fluffy, sweet, adorable
What is the thing your dog cannot live without? She cannot live without attention. She needs all the attention in the world. If there is a cat on my lap, she will bark until the cat moves, and then proceed to jump on my lap. If we are petting another dog, she will shove the dog out of her way, so she can get petted.
Can your dog do tricks? If so, what? Yes, she knows sit, shake, lay down, and roll over.
What is the best trick your dog has taught you? Sophie has taught me a lot of responsibility. She sheds a lot, especially in the summer time, so I always have to clean up her hair. She is also a messy eater and throws her food all over the place while eating it, so I have to clean that after every meal.
Do you have a nickname for your dog? No
Does your dog enjoy bath time? No, she hates water, she will squirm and splash, and do anything to get out of the tub.
You know your dog is in a good mood when he/she does this: She likes to run laps around the house when she gets excited. If you stand in her way she will knock you down. If we are about to go for a walk she will sit at the door knowing that we are about to leave. All I have to do is pick up the leash.
Your dog’s favorite spot to hangout is: Under the bed or in an air conditioned room
Favorite toy: I got my mom a stuffed dog for Christmas a few years ago, and Sophie loves to sleep with the stuffed dog.
One habit you would love to change: She bites at her paws, and we can't figure out why.
Does your dog prefer to play with people, or other dogs? People, she is not the biggest fan of other dogs, especially smaller breeds.
Does your dog like children? She absolutely adores children, Children are sometimes afraid of her
If you could ask your dog one question and they’d be able to answer it, what would it be? What happens when no one is at the house?
Can your dog read your emotions? Yes, she can always tell when i am upset
Funniest moment you’ve had with your dog: My father owns Sophie’s brothers. Whenever we bring them together, it is a nightmare. They love barking and wrestling with each other. They all do laps around the house, and it feels like the house is going to collapse.
What is the most rewarding aspect of owning your dog? Just coming home and having her jump all over me and give me kisses. She misses me, even if I am gone for five minutes.
