Because money is the driving force behind the economy, there will always be a need for accountants to supply the raw data that business, industry and government leaders need to decide where and how money should be spent. The accounting program at NCC provides students with accounting theory and techniques that prepare them for entry-level positions as junior accountants or in careers that deal with analyzing, interpreting and reconciling finances on a daily basis.
Students are given strong academic grounding and practical experience in areas such as accounting principles, computer technology, communication skills, income tax accounting, and managerial accounting. The program is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and is updated each year to include the latest technology, software, and web-based learning systems.
Graduates of the program - particularly those interested in becoming Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) - may transfer their credits to a cooperative institution. NCC also offers two specialized diplomas in accounting: the Accounting Specialized Diploma and the Accounting Assistant Specialized Diploma.
