Why worry about groceries when you can take advantage of one of the meal plans that is offered to residential students? Students can choose from one of the following meal plans when they decide to live on campus, a question we often get asked is; “how do I know what meal plan to pick?” We tell students to think about whether they will be on campus during the weekends, do they have off campus employment and to consider their class schedules when they are selecting how many ‘meals’ a week they want to purchase.
Meal Plan Options and Costs
Residential students living in the Residence Hall must choose one of the two meal plan options below. A ‘Swipe’ refers to the one entry in the Dining Hall located in the Residence Hall. Each student would use one ‘swipe’ when they enter for either breakfast, lunch or dinner. Once a student has swiped into the Dining Hall, the meal plan is designed as a buffet style, so the resident can eat as much or as little as they would like. Students can choose between 19 ‘swipes’ (meals a week) or 14 ‘swipes’ (meals a week), the meals do not roll over from week to week, so if a student does not use all of their meals in a given week they lose them. The Flex Dollars is a declining debit on their meal plan- the Flex Dollars can be used in the Food Court on Campus located in College Center or at the Late Night Snack Bar (The Den) located in the Residence Hall.
Traditional Meal Plans
- Traditional 19 Swipes Meal Plan with $200 Flex: $1,760 per semester
- Traditional 14 Swipes Meal Plan with $200 Flex: $1,638 per semester
Residential students that live in an Apartment may choose from one of the meal plan options above, or they may select from one of the options below. Students that reside in the apartments have the option of choosing a smaller meal plan as each apartment is equipped with a kitchen that allows students to prepare their own meals. The 75 Swipe Plan provides the student 75 swipes over the entire semester to use the Dining Hall in the Residence Hall and has no Flex Dollars associated with it. The $550 Flex plan allows students to use their declining balance at the Late Night Snack Bar (The Den) located in the Residence Hall, the Food Court located on Campus located in College Center or in the Dining Hall located in the Residence Hall- they will just take the specific dollar amount equated to whichever meal the student chooses to eat there.
