President's Message

Dr. David A. Ruth

NCC President Dr. David A. Ruth talks with students in Laub Lounge on the Bethlehem campus.

Despite challenges and changes that have rocked our region and nation in the past year, NCC has remained a constant beacon of hope and promise for our students. It’s a promise the college has never broken throughout its more than 55 year history...to transform lives by providing affordable access to a top-quality education: an education that opens doors to promising careers, and life changing opportunities.

As I begin my first year as NCC’s president, I remain mindful of the awesome scope of that responsibility. Doing what we do…changing students’ lives, and sometimes that of their families, isn’t just a job we perform each week. I believe it’s a vocation. And as the area’s college of the community, it’s also an obligation we have to those who live and work in the region, to do what we do and do it well.

Thanks to the efforts of our faculty and staff, and generous commitments of our donor community, we are able to continue to deliver on that promise, day in and day out; making a difference in lives, one student at a time, one career at a time, one family at a time.

I believe that NCC is extraordinarily well positioned to be a force for positive change in our community. We will do that by shaping the trajectory of our students’ lives for the better, and by continuing partnerships with businesses and organizations, training the next generation of employees to address their workforce needs of the future.
