NCC Sonography Class of 2020 Graduates

Northampton Community College’s (NCC) diagnostic medical sonography class of 2020 held a socially distanced Pinning Ceremony on Thursday, August 13, in Lipkin Theater on Bethlehem Campus. The graduates were Lindsay Fallon, Katelyn Cole, Stephanie Horvath, Luz Camacho Flores, Juliette Myers, Sara Linke and Michelle Menendez. The NCC alum are also ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certified.

Juliette Myers and Michelle Menendez will be continuing their education with post-graduate internships in maternal fetal medicine.

Menendez will be completing a 30-day stint at St. Luke’s with an internship in obstetric sonography, a type of sonography performed on pregnant patients. This learning experience will allow her to fine-tune her skills.

“I love obstetrics because of the joy that surrounds this type of sonogram. Also, other types of ultrasounds or scans on different parts of the body don’t allow for the technician to reveal much. I want to be able to educate the patient, pointing out the baby’s breathing, anatomy, and what’s going with the baby,” said Menendez.

Stephanie Horvath, Luz Camacho Flores and Sara Linke have accepted sonography positions with St. Luke’s University Health Network.

Camacho, who said she always knew she wanted to work in healthcare, accepted an ultrasound technician position at St. Luke’s Anderson Campus, which will start the end of August.

“I’m excited to continue to work with them since I’ve been doing clinicals at Anderson Campus for the past 6 months while at NCC. St. Luke’s is a fast-paced environment, and there were a lot of opportunities to learn. I was able to experience different types of patients, and I look forward to working with more."

To Sue Davidson, DMS program manager and professor, this class is near and dear to her heart. “They are the first group of students that I chose to accept into the program shortly after I began as the program manager.  I think of these young women as the class of “resilience” since they have endured so much in both their personal lives and as students. They have demonstrated great perseverance, and I am very excited for them to begin their new profession.”
