Canjico is doing well with his homeschooling!
Your name: Cindy Woodling
Job title/department: Program Administrator, Driver Training
What kind of pet do you have (dog, cat, bird, etc.)? Spanish Water Dog
What is your pet’s name? AKC name is: Angels Cinnamon Sugar DePrederia. Common Name: Canjico
How did you come up with this name? Canjico is the name of a character in the book the Seamstress. Seeking a foreign influenced name led me to Canjico, which means a sweet hominy pudding.
How old is your pet? 15 weeks (as of January 15, 2020)
What is your pet’s gender? Male
Describe your pet in three words: Bundle of curls.
What is the thing your pet cannot live without? Me, of course.
Can your pet do tricks? If so, what? He began his training two days after coming home with me at 9 weeks. He loves to run through and jump over his tunnel and get his paws up on almost any prop that I give him.
What is the best trick your pet has taught you? Canjico is definitely teaching me to be more patient. For me, that is indeed a trick.
Do you have a nickname for your pet? Jico
You know your pet is in a good mood when he/she does this: His stubby little tail going a mile a minute lets me know he is in a good mood
Your pet’s favorite spot to hangout is: Our household is very busy, so Jico's favorite spot is my lap when he and I first get up in the morning. We love our quiet time before the house wakes up
Favorite toy: Anything with a squeaker in it
Does your pet prefer to play with people, or other animals? People.
Does your pet like children? Yes
If you could ask your pet one question and they’d be able to answer it, what would it be? What do we need to do so you are more confident and less timid in new situation?
Can your pet read your emotions? Yes, definitely
Funniest moment you’ve had with your pet: Having a cold little nose poked into my ear quite unexpectedly
What is the most rewarding aspect of owning your pet? Two aspects actually. Educating others about our breed which is fairly new as a recognized AKC breed in the US. Secondly, seeing Jico's growth in learning his obedience commands and the focus he maintains during training sessions.
Additional Comments: Our family looks forward to learning new things with our puppy and his future participation in AKC confirmation and sporting events.
