Tau Gamma chapter receives international awards
The Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society recognized the Tau Gamma chapter from the Bethlehem campus of Northampton Community College with the following international awards:
Ranked in the Top 100 Chapters
-- Out of approximately 1,285 chapters around the nation and world
Distinguished Chapter Officer Team
-- Only 30 winners selected from 192 nominees. This award is presented in recognition of an exceptional atmosphere of teamwork, leadership abilities, promotion of Honors in Action and other engagement in the Society, and enthusiasm for the Society's Hallmarks.
Distinguished Member Award
Nureen Zia -- Only 31 winners selected from 143 nominees This member was selected based on her embodiment of the Hallmarks of the Society through Honors in Action and other chapter activities.
Distinguished Officer Award
Katelyn Schoelles -- Only 30 winners selected from 391 nominees This officer was selected based on her demonstration of leadership, promotion of Honors in Action and other engagement in the Society, and enthusiasm for the Society's Hallmarks.
Paragon Advisor Award
Miranda Baker -- Only 15 winners selected from 56 nominees. Advisors are recognized for significant contributions to the growth of individual members, service as the chapter's advocate on campus and encouraging the chapter to be involved on the local, regional, and/or international level of the organization. This advisor award is for advisors with four or fewer years of Phi Theta Kappa advising experience.
Phi Theta Kappa recognizes and encourages the academic achievement of two-year college students and provides opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fellowship programming.
