Week of the Young Child 2015

PA State Reps read to kids

State Rep. Bob Freeman and children from Reibman Hall State Representative Robert Freeman of Pennsylvania's 136th legislative district helped the young students at Northampton Community College's Reibman Hall Children's Center celebrate the Week of the Young Child on April 16. Freeman read aloud the 2015 PA One Book selection, Number One Sam by Greg Pizzoli.

Meanwhile in Monroe ... State Representative Jack Rader of Pennsylvania's 175th legislative district read the same book to children at the Hannig Family Children's Center.

Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).  The purpose of this celebration is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.
