Carol Guzy ’77

Although she graduated with a degree in nursing, it was an NCC class in darkroom photography that led Carol to her eventual career as a four-time Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist. She credits her NCC nursing training with giving her a foundation in empathy and compassion that informs her photography. This year, she has photographed the devastation in Mosul, Iraq, and Puerto Rico. Carol rescues animals, and collected her photographs of Hurricane Katrina animals in an exhibit titled "Silent Souls."
