Program Narrative
The Computer Information Technology program is designed to prepare you for employment after you receive your associate's degree. The Application Development option will provide the educational foundation you will need to build proficiency with computer equipment, operating systems, productivity software, and programming languages, as well as skills necessary for web development such as client-side and server-side scripting and web server administration.
Program Features
The first year of the program is designed to provide a strong foundation in basic PC applications, operating systems and client-side scripting. Thus you will have a strong foundation to pursue more advanced and specialized learning in the second year.
The second year offers you an opportunity to learn additional languages, server-side scripting, web server administration and database systems. Object-oriented programming and development of Windows applications are included in the second year of study.
Completion of this program prepares you for entry-level web developer, programmer and database programmer positions.
Depending on your plans and available time, you can complete this program in two years of full-time study with day and evening classes, or in three or four years of part-time study.

Application Programming Specialized Diploma
Program Narrative
This program is designed to provide a strong foundation in PC applications, computer programming and database design. The skills acquired include advanced features of office application software and computer program design and implementation. The use of Visual Basic as a stand-alone programming language as well as its use with selected Windows applications is emphasized. Java programming and Structured Query Language are also studied. Completion of this program prepares you for the positions of entry-level programmer and database programmer.
Program Features
This program emphasizes wide range of programming skills starting with the office application software in: Computer Technology I, Microcomputer Applications, and Data Base Systems. It also includes programming courses in Visual Basic, both fundamental and advanced skills as well as programming Java applications and applets.
This program is intended for part-time study.
Computer Information Technology Program:
Web Programming Option Specialized Diploma
Program Narrative
This program was developed to introduce students to the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to develop the technical programming aspects of web sites. The programming skills necessary are achieved through learning several different web-programming technologies. They include Java, JavaScript, Active Server Pages, Applet programming and Servlet programming. Completion of this program prepares you for entry-level web developer positions.
Program Feature
This program emphasizes a wide range of programming skills starting with the client side: HTML, JavaScript, and Java/Applets. It then proceeds to server side programming that includes Active Server Pages and Java Server Pages/Servlets. There is a final course that will combine all of these skills in the development of a comprehensive site and making practical use of web servers.
This program is intended for part-time study.
Computer Information Technology Program: Networking Option
Program Narrative
The Computer Information Technology program is designed to prepare you for employment after you receive your associate's degree. The program will provide the educational foundation you will need to build proficiency with computer equipment systems, productivity software, networks and operating systems, and Internet and Enterprise network connectivity.
Program Features
The first year of the program is designed to provide a strong foundation in basic PC applications, operating systems, and considerable microcomputer experience. Thus, you will have a strong foundation to pursue more advanced and specialized learning in the second year.
The second year offers you an opportunity to focus on networking courses that familiarize you with repairing, maintaining, and administering state-of-the-art network hardware and operating systems along with the applications utilized by these systems.
Upon completion of the Computer Information Tech-nology Program-Networking Option, you will be prepared to gain employment as a PC and network systems technician, network technician, or network administrator.
Depending on your plans and available time, you can complete this program in two years of full-time study with day and evening classes, or in three years of part-time evening study.
Graduates of the program will be prepared to pass the tests required to obtain the Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA), Net+ Certification, NOVELL Certified Netware Administrator (CNA) (if CISC 262 is taken), the A+ PC Support Certification, Microsoft MCP and/or MCSA certification, and the security and certification.

Program Narrative
The Computer Information Technology program is designed to prepare you for employment after you receive your associate's degree. The program will provide the education foundation you will need to build proficiency with computer equipment, operating systems (client and network), computer and network security technologies, as well as the surrounding legal and ethical consideration.
Program Features
The first year of the program is designed to provide a strong foundation of basic PC applications, client operating systems, and the basics of computer networking. Thus you will have a strong foundation to pursue more advanced and specialized learning the second year.
The second year offers you an opportunity to focus on the core of computer and network security. Topics include the Security+ and Server+ curriculum, Law and Ethics, and a course in which you will build a number of secure systems and have them tested by your peers.
Completion of the Computer Information Technology program - Security Option, prepares you for an entry-level position as an Information Assurance Specialist, Security Administrator, Security Technologist, or similar.
