Scan Lab Volunteer

VOLUNTEER MODELS NEEDED FOR SONOGRAPHY LAB SESSIONS

The Sonography Program is looking for volunteer models for the students to practice their imaging skills in abdominal and OB/Gyn sonography. The lab sessions are performed under the direct supervision of a certified sonographer.

 You will need to meet the following criteria in order to participate:

• Be at least 18 years-of-age
• Be able to commit approximately one (1) hour of your time for the scan
• Have a family and/or Ob/gyn physician
• Have current health insurance coverage; however, you, or your insurance company will not be billed
• Sign a release form before the procedure begins
• If you are pregnant, a normal fetal sonogram for the pregnancy must be completed before you may volunteer for the OB lab.
• If you are pregnant, a note from your physician stating that you may volunteer for the OB lab is required!!!

  *Please note:  The volunteer understands that the ultrasound examination is conducted in a teaching situation and in no way constitutes a diagnostic evaluation.  If you are experiencing any abnormal signs or symptoms, you will be deferred at your appointment time and referred to your physician.
