About the Grant Resources Collection
The Paul and Harriett Mack Library at Northampton Community College is a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center, an independent national service organization established by foundations to provide an authoritative source of information on foundation and corporate giving. It provides a core collection of Foundation Center publications and other materials useful to grantseekers.
Foundation Directory Online (FDO)
A comprehensive funding research tool covering all known U.S. grantmakers--over 98,000 foundations, corporate givers, and grantmaking public charities.
Grants file contains more than 202,000 grant records linked to the largest funders.
Database can be searched by 21 specific criteria including:
Provides in-depth program descriptions and application guidelines, and links to approximately 2,000 grantmaker Web sites and 1,000+ corporate Web sites.
Foundation Grants to Individuals Online
Designed for individual grantseekers to identify sources of funding.
FDO Availability
Free use on over 80 computers in the Mack Library during regular Library hours. Reference librarians will be glad to assist you in getting started.
FDO Search Training
Workshops on using FDO will be held in January and June/July. Specific dates will be announced. Additional resources and assistance are available from the Foundation Center Web site.
