NCC radio/TV production alumna Karen Trionfo '03 has garnered a Mid-Atlantic Emmy nomination for "Neighborhood Chef," a TV cooking program she created, directed and produced. The show, which aired in May 2009 on WFMZ-TV Channel 69 and in December 2009 on WNEP-16 (an ABC affiliate), featured chef Giuliano Liberatore touring historic Bethlehem, then cooking with a local couple and their friends in their Victorian home's kitchen.
Karen Trionfo Productions will soon be filming the next episode of "Neighborhood Chef" in historic Nazareth, PA - this time at the home of racing legend Mario Andretti.
"Giuliano will be cooking with Mario and his wife Dee Ann, as well as some of their children and grandchildren," Trionfo says. "They'll also be doing some pairings with wines from Andretti Winery."
Filming will be in late September, with January/February air dates on WFMZ-TV.
"Neighborhood Chef" was nominated in the Entertainment - Program/Special category. Winners will be announced at a ceremony on September 25 at the Loews Hotel in Philadelphia.
