Northampton Community College's annual spring semester Club Fair had a Mardi Gras theme this year, and it was a big success for the NCC Student Senate, sponsors of the event.
Fair-goers wore feathered Mardi Gras masks and beads as they perused the information tables of 41 student and college clubs and organizations. There were performances by Fall 2009 Open Mic Night winner Jaclyn Forero, NCC Idol 2009 winners The Gilbert Sisters, and flutist Janice Reigel. NCC's First Impressions boutique and models from the Hispanic American Cultural Club (HACC) put on a "Dress for Success" fashion show.
And did we mention the food? A free banquet of traditional Cajun delicacies included dirty rice, chicken jambalaya, shrimp and tasso gumbo, and cornbread.
Mardi Gras King and Queen, Tiffany Hill and Kervin Hercules (above), appeared courtesy of NCC's Gay Straight Alliance (GSA). They arrived to much fanfare, tossing chocolate coins and later, free NCC t-shirts.
