Main Campus Inducts Honor Society Members

On Friday, October 1, Northampton Community College's Main Campus chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), Tau Gamma, inducted 68 new members. Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society for community and junior college students.
The keynote speaker was Karen Trebitz, an NCC alumna who served as an officer both in Phi Theta Kappa and Monroe Campus' Student Governance. During her time at NCC, Karen was also an All-PA Academic Scholar, as well as the winner of the Liberal Arts award for graduating with the highest GPA (3.99) in the Liberal Arts Program. She graduated from East Stroudsburg University in December 2009 with a BS in Environmental Studies and will attend Washington State University next fall for graduate studies.
To qualify for membership in PTK, inductees must have a 3.5 or higher grade point average, be enrolled in an associate's degree program, and have earned 12 or more college level credits at NCC.
