EBUS 101 Introduction to E-commerce (Cr3)(3:0) Concepts and tools to implement electronic commerce via the Internet; application and server software selection, securing transactions, use and verification of credit cards, marketing of the business, site administration and design.
EBUS 103 E-commerce Security and Payments (Cr1)(1:0) Vulnerability of the communication channels that carry information between one location and another; digital certificates and certification authorities and how they are used to verify user identification; how payment systems operate to both approve transactions and credit merchants for sales, and resource and implementation issues. Prereq. - EBUS 101.
EBUS 130 Web Design Technology (Cr3)(2:2) Introduction to designing, programming and publishing an effective web site; brief history of the Internet and the WWW and an overview of the current state of the WWW; issues pertaining to the business of designing for the WWW; preparation for a the advanced web site design course, including Flash-based web animation; each student will be expected to create an e-commerce based web site. Only one of EBUS 130 or ARTA 130 may be taken for credit and applied to graduation. Prereq. - ARTA 170 or working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and/or Macromedia Freehand software.
