Basic mathematics and special topics relating to specific technical areas using modular approach. Modules will be identified for each student according to his career choice. A student may challenge any or all of the modules for credit in a technical program requiring the course.

MATH 175 Calculus I with Review (Part 1) (Cr4)(4:0)
This course along with MATH 176 reviews both algebra and trigonometry throughout the study of calculus. The completion of both MATH 175 and 176 satisfies the MATH 180 requirement. Only MATH 175 and 176 or MATH180 may be applied to the degree program. Prereq. - appropriate competence as determined by the mathematics placement test or MATH 140 with C or better.
MATH 176 Calculus I with Review (Part 2) (Cr4)(4:0)

Limits of functions, derivatives, chain rule, implicit differentiation, extrema, indefinite and definite integration; Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, transcendental functions and applications. Techniques and applications of integration, L’Hopital’s Rule, improper integrals, solving differential equations using separation of variables, sequences and series, conics, parametric equations and polar coordinates.
