Communication Studies Club

The Communication Studies Club meets every Tuesday at 11 AM in CMUN 140. Among other activities, this newly formed club has taken over the publication of our newsletter, The CSC Voice.


Speech and Debate Team
A student debate will take place on April 25th. The topic is, “Should the U.S. lower the drinking age to 18?” The debate will occur in CC 220 at 11:00AM. If you have questions or are interested in the speech and debate team, contact Nina Latassa at nlatassa@northampton.edu

Public Speaking Contest

McGraw-Hill is sponsoring a new public speaking contest to take place each Spring and Fall semester.

 

The prizes are:

GRAND PRIZE is an all-expense paid trip to the National Communication Association conference in San Antonio, Texas in November.
FIRST place     $100

SECOND place  $300

THIRD place     $500

               

They are seeking exceptional student speeches on the following themes: technology, health, ethics, diversity, education, environment, or democracy.

Entries should include the student’s name, address, phone number, email address and the instructor’s name and school affiliation.

 

The deadline for submission for the Spring contest is May 1st.
