Prerequisite - Equivalencies
Prerequisites where required are progressive; that is, if EBM is listed as a prerequisite, it is assumed that the student also has had IST. If AFF is required it is assumed that the student has also had both IST and EBM. This holds true for 99% of the cases; on some, both are listed.
The following policy will govern the acceptance of "equivalencies" for the purpose of course prerequisite satisfaction only. This equivalency program will remain in effect until further notice.
IST Equivalencies - DHBR, DHVR, EBM, FSCO, FHSP, ZARFF, ZSFB
any previous state local level certified "safety & survival"
course; either "metro" (Phila. /Pitts.) recruit fire fighter
program, HACC "Fire Academy" program.
EBM Equivalencies - FFF, ZSFB, "metro" recruit fire fighter program, HACC
"Fire Academy" program or certification as a Fire Fighter I.
AFF Equivalencies - ZSFA, either "metro" recruit fire fighter program, HACC

Operations Level per 29 CFR 1910.120(q).
All other specialty courses (such as TRCO, ECOP, RIPO, etc.) - Acceptance of similarly named and similar length courses previously certified as part of the Academy Resident or Local Level Training Program.
Where ADFR is required as a re-requisite, the predecessor course FAD will be accepted.
