The Apology of Socrates
In Collaboration with Theatron, Inc.

The Apology of Socrates reenacts Socrates' defense in the Athenian court and his rebuttals to a guilty verdict and sentence of death.  This one-person show transports the viewer from ancient times to our contemporary world, and in doing so reaffirms the relevance of Socrates' thoughts in today's society.

"An exciting, daring performance that brings Socrates to vivid life. Experience the immortal gadfly in all his dimensions-restless, humorous, brilliant and fascinating." Odyssey Magazine

The Tragedy of Julius Caesar
By: William Shakespeare
Director: Ron Heneghan

One of the greatest theatrical tragedies of tyranny, political manipulation, and civil war, and also a profound journey of power through personal alliances.  Is assassination ever justified? Can we expect conspiracy in the name of freedom?  "How many ages hence shall this our lofty scene be acted o'er, in states unborn, in accents yet unknown?"

Rumors
By Neil Simon

Rumors runs wild with a cast of hilarious upper-class New Yorkers gathering for a respectable dinner party at the home of the Deputy Mayor.  But when the visitors arrive, the cook is missing, the hostess is gone, and the host has shot himself through the earlobe!  In this zany display of obsession and self-preservation, our guests find themselves entangled in the mayhem of a ridiculously ruinous state of affairs.

Monroe Theatre Event

The Hot L Baltimore
by Lanford Wilson
Director: Ron Heneghan

This Pulitzer Prize winner focuses on the residents of a rundown hotel (so seedy that it has lost the "e" from its marquee.) This "day-in-the-life" drama records their everyday encounters of human comedy and tragedy. The resulting mosaic becomes a poignant, powerful call to America to recover lost values and to restore itself in its own and the world's eyes.
