Informational Guide for Students Transferring into NCC:

TRANSFER CREDITS

A student with prior college credits from a U.S. accredited institution (does not include Business or Trade Schools):

  • can receive a maximum of 45 credits in transfer into a degree program
  • would be awarded credit for courses 1) completed with C grades or better, and  2) that apply to the NCC major.

A student with a bachelor's degree from a U.S. accredited institution and pursuing an Associate's degree at NCC:
  • Does not need to take the NCC Placement Test
  • Shall be considered to have completed the general education core requirements of that major.

International students with credits from a foreign institution pursuing an NCC Associate's degree:

  • Need to request from the World Education Services (WES) in NYC a course-by-course evaluation of their translated transcript. See Admissions or visit www.wes.org for a WES application.
  • The WES evaluation receives the same consideration for transfer credits as above.

NOTE:
  • No transfer of credit evaluation is done until the NCC Admissions Office receives the official U.S. transcript(s) or WES original evaluation from every college attended.
  • Official transcripts should be sent to Admissions if you are applying for Financial Aid or are interested in one of NCC's selective allied health programs.
  • Transferred credits are added to a student's record upon final verification of enrollment (after the refund period of a student's first semester).

ADVANCED PLACEMENT CREDITS:

CLEP and Advanced Placement Exams

  •  CLEP and Advanced Placement exams are nationally recognized, and upon passing, credit would be awarded if applicable to your program of study. Call 610-861-5329 to register for a CLEP test.

Challenge Exams

  • Challenge exams are NCC exams, and upon passing, credit would be awarded if applicable to your program of study. See Records and Registration Office to sign up.
  •  The credits may or may not transfer to another institution.

Other Exams

  • NCC grants educational credit by exam as outlined by the American Council on Education (ACE) guide.
