Our Mission of Engagement
Northampton Community College seeks to deepen the learning of its students and to improve the quality of community life through its commitment to civic engagement, scholarship, and partnerships with our communities. Through curriculum, co-curricular activity, community outreach, and service learning, students, faculty and staff will become responsible citizens, active community participants, agents of change, and visionary thinkers in an evolving and diverse society.
President's Message "As educators, one of our highest responsibilities is to ensure that our students become civic minded graduates. Our students need to understand the issues facing their communities and they should leave Northampton with the skills which enable them to become contributing community leaders.
As a faculty and staff, it is important for us to model the behavior we hope to instill in our students --- which means everyone who works at Northampton should be civically engaged, whether it is volunteering at a local food bank, serving on a community board, or supporting a particular charity --- our community needs our support, and our students need to see us in the community. "
