To be considered for Summer financial aid, you must:
- Be registered for Summer I and/or Summer II semester classes,
- Submit a Summer 2008 Request For Consideration For Financial Aid form (also available from the NCC Financial Aid Office),
- Submit a 2007/2008 NCC Financial Aid Information Form (if you have not previously done so), and
- Submit a 2007/2008 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form (if you have not previously done so).
Important Summer Aid Information:
- If you are taking Spring 2008 semester courses, your eligibility for Summer 2008 financial aid is contingent upon the successful completion of these courses. Therefore, your application for Summer 2008 aid cannot be processed until after your Spring 2008 semester grades are posted. Consequently, it is imperative that you pay for your Summer I 2008 semester course(s) by the tuition due date.
- If your Summer 2008 financial aid award is based on your enrollment in both Summer semesters, aid funds will not be disbursed until after the start of the Summer II 2008 semester (in order to verify enrollment). Consequently, student refunds will not be issued until after the start of the Summer II 2008 semester.
- Book vouchers are not issued during the Summer.
Federal Pell Grant
If you were eligible for a Pell grant during the 2007/2008 academic year and you were enrolled in less than 12 credits (i.e. less than full-time) during the Fall 2007 and/or Spring 2008 semesters, you may be eligible for a Pell grant during the Summer 2008 semester.
Federal Stafford Loan
If you wish to apply for a federal Stafford (i.e. student) loan, you must:
- Be enrolled in at least 6 credits during the Summer, and
- If you had a previous Stafford loan at NCC, indicate that you want to be considered for a Summer student loan on the Summer 2008 Request For Consideration For Financial Aid form you submit. If you are a new borrower, obtain and submit a Federal Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note (available from the NCC Financial Aid Office or on the Web at www.aessuccess.org).
Pennsylvania State Grant
To be considered for a Summer Pennsylvania State grant, you must be enrolled in at least 6 credits during the Summer and have submitted either the 2007/2008 or 2008/2009 FAFSA. You must also submit a 2008 Pennsylvania Summer State Grant Application (also available from the NCC Financial Aid Office) by August 15, 2008.
