NCC Faculty Members Honored with Tradition of Excellence Award
February 15, 2008

Two Northampton Community College (NCC) faculty members were honored with the College’s Spartan Tradition of Excellence Award at a professional staff meeting on February 14. The award recognizes significant contributions to providing excellent, accessible and comprehensive learning experiences for students and the community.

Olga Conneen, director of library services, (pictured at left, showing the star-shaped award created in NCC's "Fab Lab), was honored for her efforts in championing diversity on campus by spearheading the creation of a diversity/unity wall presentation. “It was Olga’s commitment and tenacity that made the project a reality,” said NCC President Arthur Scott.

Karen Rhines, associate professor of psychology, received recognition for her commitment to the College’s diversity initiatives, particularly for facilitating a series of workshops on the topic of privilege. “Karen’s energy and commitment to this important topic has been well received and has made an important impact on the college community,” said NCC President Arthur Scott.
