Good News for the Class of 2016

The Future Looks Bright!

As members of the Northampton Community College (NCC) Class of 2016 prepare for Commencement, a recently released report on the experiences of the class that preceded them suggests they will fare well.

The placement report was prepared by NCC's Career and Work/Life Services based on a survey of the 80% of the Class of 2015 who responded.  The Class of 2015 comprises individuals who completed their programs in August 2014, December 2014 and May 2015-a total of 1,648 graduates.

Some highlights include:

· 91% of respondents reported being employed or continuing their educations-a slight uptick from 90% of respondents from the Class of 2014;

· 90% were employed in careers of their choice, as opposed to 87% last year;

· 74% from transfer programs were continuing their educations (as contrasted with 70% last year), and were accepted at 79 different colleges and universities. Among the institutions to which NCC graduates transferred are Bloomsburg University, Cedar Crest College, DeSales University, Drexel University, East Stroudsburg University, Kutztown University, Moravian College, Muhlenberg College, Penn State University, Penn State-Lehigh Valley, Temple University, and West Chester University.  Graduates also went on to Harvard University, University of Florida, University of Maryland, University of Utah, and many more;

· Graduates in two of the highest-paying fields, dental hygiene $(60,320 median salary), and diagnostic medical sonography ($51,792 median salary) saw salary increases of 7% and 9% respectively in 2015.
