Northampton Community College honored the achievements of graduates from the registered nursing program in a formal ceremony on January 17 in Lipkin Theatre. This group of registered nurses received their pins as a symbol of achievement and dedication to ideals of the nursing profession. This pin will be theirs to wear for the remainder of their careers.
Dean of Allied Health and Sciences Carolyn Kern, RN, began the evening with a welcome followed by the presentation of graduates. Speakers from Country Meadows Retirement Community addressed the graduates, marking the first time that representatives from a clinical site have taken part in the ceremony. Class speakers Cathryn Hardin and Donna Sell shared their comments along with Mary Jean Osborne, director of the nursing department, who ended with closing remarks. A reception followed in Lipkin Theatre Foyer.
Northampton Community College prepares students for a life-long career in nursing through its certificate and associate degree programs. More than 3000 students have graduated from NCC’s registered nursing and licensed practical nursing programs since the College was founded.
