New "Spartan Sibs" Program

Starting this semester, the Northampton Community College Student Senate offered a new program for first-time NCC students.  The "Spartan Sibs" program pairs new students with current NCC students.  This is an opportunity for new students to learn about NCC through a returning student.

Earlier this month, some of the new students got to meet their Sibs during a pizza luncheon.  Tim Semonich, the chairman of the Student Senate, organized the event, which included some ice-breaker games to ease the tension.  "I want the new students to feel comfortable around campus and to get involved and become part of the NCC culture," says the business administration major.

Anthony Taccetta and Tyler Bradley are participating in the program.  Originally from Staten Island, Anthony signed up to be paired with a Spartan Sib to learn about the school and the surrounding area.  "I'd like to know more about the Lehigh Valley as a whole."

Tyler, a biology major from Danielsville, PA, is serving as Anthony's "sib," and he's more than willing to answer questions.  "We plan on meeting up at school and communicating through text messages."
