Using Financial Aid for Books, Childcare and other purposes
If you have pending or awarded financial aid in excess of your student bill for the semester, you may use it in the following ways:
Books/Supplies - Use up to 50% of your credit balance (maximum allowed $600) to purchase required textbooks and supplies at any NCC Bookstore or online at www.northamptonbookstore.com beginning two weeks prior to the session start date for Fall session and one week prior to the session start date for Spring session. Note: Certain types of third party funding only allow purchase of required textbooks. You will need your Tuition Bill/Schedule and a valid photo ID to make a purchase.
Only students with financial aid can access a book credit. Your book credit amount is reflected on the Spartan Net Student Tuition Bill/Schedule.
(Note: Overpayments on the student account may also reflect a credit, however, books cannot be charged against overpayments)
How your book credit is calculated
Future/Prior Session - Request to carry charges to a future or prior semester.*
Flex Account - Starting with the 1st day of class you may purchase flex dollars up to a maximum of $300. Additional flex dollars may be purchased after financial aid is disbursed to your student account.*
NCC Childcare - Pay for childcare services at the NCC Children's Center.*
Refund - Excess financial aid that is not used for other purposes will be refunded to the student. Click here for more information on student refunds. Parent Plus loan net proceeds are applied against student charges first. Net Parent Plus proceeds in excess of student charges are refunded to the parent by NCC check.
